Outdoor recreation generates $16.4 billion per year and sustains 171,000 jobs in Oregon. Recognizing the disparity between this significant economic impact and its limited policy-making influence, Oregon Outdoors was born in 2017 when cross-sector leaders from across the state came together with a shared vision for preserving Oregon's outdoor assets for tomorrow's Oregonians.

Benefits of Membership

  • The strength of a collective voice representing one of the primary economic engines in Oregon: outdoor recreation;
  • Representation with decision-makers in Oregon and Washington D.C. on Oregon's outdoor priorities;
  • A vote on the priorities and positions of Oregon Outdoors;
  • Eligibility for Oregon Outdoors' Steering Committee and subcommittees;
  • Connection to a community with a shared vision that preserving Oregon's outdoor assets is the solution to upholding resilient ecosystems and growing sustainable economies; and
  • Oregon Outdoors communications and action alerts.

Membership Requirements

All Oregon Outdoors Members must:

  • Be able and willing to advocate and/or lobby in support of Oregon Outdoors' initiatives at the local, state or federal level.
  • Agree to the Oregon Outdoors mission, vision and core values.
  • Declare that protection of Oregon's outdoors aligns with their mission and values.
  • Have a presence in Oregon and be contributing to Oregon's economy.
