Leading Oregon's Outdoor Recreation Movement
By inviting someone new to hike, bike, paddle or take a stroll in the nearest park, Oregon Outdoors hopes to grow the tent of Oregonians who recognize the health and wellbeing benefits of living more life outdoors. We want ALL Oregonians to see our diverse Pacific Northwest landscapes as a place for all to enjoy. Data shows that over half of all Americans and 31% of Oregonians don’t recreate outside, and we believe with your help we can introduce more of these folks to the abundant and varied outdoor activities Oregon has to offer.
Outdoor recreation generates $16.4 billion per year and sustains over 171,000 jobs in Oregon. Recognizing the disparity between this significant economic impact and its limited policy-making influence, Oregon Outdoors was born in 2017 when cross-sector leaders from across the state came together with a shared vision for preserving Oregon's outdoor assets for tomorrow's Oregonians.
Oregon Outdoors establishes common priorities in order to bring our collective voice into action for Oregon's outdoor assets. We work to ensure that outdoor recreation is celebrated and sustained as an integral part of the state's identity, culture, and sustainable economy.
Oregon Outdoors is a coalition of outdoor recreation businesses, conservation groups, recreation organizations, and individuals who are committed to the preservation of Oregon's outdoor assets for future generations.
To harness the shared interests and influence of outdoor recreation businesses, conservation groups and recreation organizations to preserve and expand Oregon's outdoor assets for future generations.
We envision a future where the preservation of Oregon's outdoor assets is the solution to upholding resilient ecosystems and growing sustainable economies.
